Welcome to Swedish Paradise

Sweden's National Day was Friday June 6. My family was invited to a summer house outside of Stockholm.

Since the weather has been warm and delightful for weeks, we were happy to embrace the Swedish archipelago for a few days. After an easy drive north to a small ferry, we reached our island destination in 75 minutes. The final part of our journey was a short and relaxing motorboat ride to the house.

Our host greeted us with "Welcome to Swedish Paradise". Her words beautifully described the scenery. The house is a typical Swedish summer home, located on the water in a private cul-de- sac of calm atmosphere. (see photo below)

It was a magnificent weekend full of good food, kids playing around the house/in the water, perfect weather, stimulating conversation and sleep as deep and comfortable as you can imagine. "A Thing of Beauty" as the poet John Keats would say.

Take that trip to Stockholm, Sweden if you have never been and make sure to visit at least one of the lovely places in the vast archipelago. (http://www.thelocal.se/travel/)

When the weather cooperates, it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Happy Gswede Sunday!
